Why is photography important to me?
I have loved photography since I was in High School. My husband was wounded in Afghanistan and I had to pick up my life and move to California to become his caregiver while he recovered from his injuries.
A few years later, we had our eldest daughter, Madelynn. Around the time she was a year and a half, I felt a loss of identity and decided to get a small part-time job at a high volume portrait studio.
Working in a studio was where I found a love for portraits. Most of my time was spent capturing small and large family photography, newborn photography, and senior photography.
I got to watch families grow, and share special moments with them, but I wanted more; I wanted to give my clients more options and more time. I wanted to push myself creatively. This was the point Kayla Rose Photography became a reality.
